TIPS TO GIVE IMPRESSIVE TEACHING JOB INTERVIEW

Interviewing for a School teaching jobs, especially in today's shaky economy, can be quite nerve-wracking. However, there are certain steps you can take that will increase your chances of getting recruited. While the following items will not assure you a job, if you follow through on each of these you will leave a much better impression and will hopefully receive a positive answer and also you will get a great experience.

01) Key Questions Must Be Prepared

Research and prepare yourself for possible Teacher interview questions, so to surprise minimum. you also don't want to appear as though you are searching for what to say and don't want to look too rehearsed.

02) Research Of School Before Going For the Interview

You have to show that you know something about the school, its values and culture. Must watch their websites thoroughly and make sure to learn about their mission statement and goals. This interest will pay off when you will be answering questions and will show that you are not interested in just a job, but also in teaching at that particular school that will impress the interviewer.

03) Have Good Hygiene and Dress Professionally

This might seem obvious but it often occurs that individuals come to interviews dressed inappropriately or seems to be tired. Remember, you are making an impression of your professionalism so be sure to have clean ironed clothes and skirts at an acceptable length. Brush and use mouthwash before entering the school.

04) Make a Good First Impression

Arrive 15 minutes early. Do Shake hands firmly. Must have Smile and appear happy and enthusiastic. Wait till you are asked to take a seat. Make sure that you have less saliva in your mouth before going into the interview to reduce fumbling of words. The first 15 minutes of your interview are very important.

05) Be Tactful and Polite

Use your best manners—always be humble by saying please and thank you just like your parent taught you. You should also make sure that you are very tactful when you make statements during interview. For example, when you are speaking about your previous experiences and fellow teachers, do not stoop to petty statements.

06) Be Very Alert and Listen

Stay in the present moment and listen closely to every question. Make sure that you are actually answering the question that was asked - you can parrot the question back or ask the interviewer repeat a particularly complicated question, but not every time. Respond to nonverbal cues from interviewers. For example, if you notice that the person interviewing you is looking at their watch or other things, you might want to make sure that you are not taking too much time to answer.

07) Show Enthusiasm for Teaching Career

Be enthusiastic for the work and express your love for teaching students. Don't be negative at any part. Remember, teaching is all about helping students learn and grow and This should be always your priority.

08) Use Some Specific Examples

When answering questions, stay away from direct answer. Instead of this, use some specific examples. If you have no teaching experience, pull yourself from your student teaching experiences. In this case, which of the following statements would count for more in an interview:

• "I make sure to come to class prepared and timely."

• "Each day, I will have my lesson plan printed with maximum times for each transition however I make sure that all handouts are ready and in order so that I can go through the lesson with a minimum of mistakes."

09) Show Your Keen Interest in Professional Growth

When you are asked questions about your future in this career, make sure that you show an interest in growing in this profession and this will provide interviewers further information about your enthusiasm and interest in teaching students.

10) Selling Yourself

You are your own advocate and the interviewers will in most instances have no information about you other than your resume so you need to bring that experience and enthusiasm alive for interviewer each time. When they are going to make their final decision, you want to stand out. You can only do this if you show yourself in the best light and allow the interviewer to see your passion for teaching in their school.
